I live in TX and believe me none compare not Dallas or anywhere in Tx.

Aloha from Down Unda! Our Church's Chicken in Honolulu closed years ago but we prefered it to KFC or any other chicken place!. When we visit Las Vegas, it seems that it was exactly as we remembered in Honolulu, years earlier. [Jalepenos! Yayyy!] We've never been to ALT but vaugely remember Killeen, Texas, where we were 1st introduced to Church's. It seems to me that the recipes would be identical in all locations just as KFC, McDonald's, Burger King & Popeye's doesn't differ from one end of the earth to the other...believe me, we can testify that McDonald's 'Down Unda' is jest as lame with fillin orders as McDonald's USA! [That may be a little harsh...it's only that the sparse use of mustard on a Quarterpounder is very noticable & Church's is missing entirely. There's only KFC & 'Red Roster'.] I'd speculate that you may have merely enjoyed the company more in ALT! I love Church's biscuits, they are the best!
Gotta be the lard they pressure cook it in. And the biscuits and corn nuggets are to die for.
Have you ever tried Mrs winners? They are good too....I like it better than the KFC too. I dont know if they have Mrs. winner's in TX, but I think they still have them in GA. Love fried chicken...its the best. YUM
They do have the worlds best biscuits!!! The chicken...well at least it is very cheap. I prefer Popeyes when in the ATL. When i'm in the north (MI) I rather have KFC. There is less focus on "Original" north of Kentucky and more focus on Extra Cripsy and Spicy Crispy, which is what i like. Ms. Winners has good slaw but the chicken wings are about the size of my fist. I like lots of meat but thats just scary. To be honest Kroger in ATL usually has good fried chicken from the deli when its fresh. and Cheap! Sorry i didn't answer your question :)
Its not really big outside of Atlanta. Church's is big in the African American community in Atlanta. One reason may be is they are the ones making it and they know how to make fried chicken!!!! Come on they are the ones that brought it here!
To the previous poster; Church's Chicken is not just in Atlanta, its all over the nation. Also they do make some great fried chicken. Its gotta be the grease!..lol
