I have a pot of Hens and Chicks plants?

I have a pot of hens and chicks plants that was out all winter (I live in Wisconsin) It looks like it's dead right now will it come back? Do I need to prune it at all in order to get them to start budding new chicks? I also have a bed that I need plants for. Would it be alright to plant my hens and chicks in the bed this spring?

  1. They may or may not come back. Chicks and hens do well in beds and will fill an area in given time. My mom has some in an old boot. I think she puts them in the garage over the winter. We are in Michigan.
  2. Yes you can remove them from the pot and plant them. Water a couple times a week to get them started. They are a very hardy plant, and will root easily. Put them in the sun.
