Chook Me!

is 6 feet long and 3 feet high and wide big enough for a chicken coop? ?

I tend to think not...but my friend built one in his backyard to hold some bantams. They arent going to get let out during the day because the cats might get them...or they may suffer the wrath of the neighbours if they hop over the fence. what do you think? what's a decent size for a chicken coop?

  1. That's big enough for maybe 6-10 chickens, depending on their size. My grandmother said that ONE chicken should have at least 18 square inches to settle down at night, and they should have 2 to three times that to get suffiecient exercise. I did some calculations and I came up with 7 chickens. Chickens CAN kinda fly/glide, so if you have a coop it should have wire on the top as well.
