Chook Me!

What ever happened to the Dixie Chicks?

In their hay days they were one of the most popular music group. I wasn't a big fan of some of the things they said and did but I know good music when I hear it and they were good. I remember when Natalie Maines came out and said that "We don't want this war, this violence, and, we're ashamed of the President of the United States from Texas", after that they disappeared. Well now were are all those haters? all the people who wanted this war? no one wants this war anymore and we didn't find "weapons of mass destruction", so why don't the Dixie Chicks come back?

  1. because you don't disrespect our commander in chief like that. its unamerican and that don't just go away. they are spoiled b itches that think their opinion matters in the world when it doesn't. i'm glad they are gone. some lines you just don't cross. they crossed it.
  2. Well they did release an album Taking the Long Way in 2006. Their number one single Not Ready to Make Nice was directed towards all the angry feedback they got from Bush supporters. You should listen to it its a good song and an awesome album.
  3. I wish the same I too believe that they should come back but I don't know if that would happen. Its a shame that just by saying your opinion that you get wiped off the face of the industry.
  4. Martie had another baby last month.
  5. They haven't released a CD or toured since 2006. This year, Natalie Maines did a duet on Neil Diamond's new CD, Home Before Dark. The song is called Another Day (That Time Forgot) On their home page there is nothing in their latest headlines section. No news at all since July 2006. I think they have gone their separate ways.
  6. Their dissing of the President can't have helped their careers. I'm not too hot on Bush, but some country fans don't differentiate between dissing the President, whoever it is, and dissing the country, and Country fans think they are the most patriotic people around, and some of them even are. If they think you are showing disrespect to the country, even if they're wrong, you're nothing to them. Also, Pop-Country isn't my thing; I prefer the old stuff and current country which is more like the old stuff.
  7. Well, they insulted the president to his face, that lost lots of fans. My guess is their business failed and they were forced to work at burger king.
  8. What the Dixie Chicks didn't realize when they badmouthed the President overseas, is that most Americans feel that we should keep our troubles at home. As far as great music goes, they aren't the only ones who sing well, and they won't be the last ones to sing well--so, opening your big yap is a good way to sink your career. I, for one, don't care if they ever come back.
  9. The Dixie Chicks are no longer in country music, nor will they be.They said so themselves.Haters? Ok then, I'm a hater.A hater of people like the Dixie Chicks who trash our country on foreign soil. You like the Dixie Chicks you say? Good for you. Go listen to them and stfu. Wear your Obama shirt and burn a few flags while you're at it.

  11. Country artists of today are more like pop singers then ever before. They come and go like yesterdays hash. In twenty years, you'll probably still see Haggard and Jones, even Hank Williams on music for sale. It's doubtful you'll see very many of today's stars then.
