Chook Me!

I'm wanting to make a casserole for dinner, but not sure how long to cook it for.?

I don't have a recipe. It's something I'm trying to copy from a frozen dinner I got last week. It's rice, cooked chicken, brocolli, and cheese. How long should I keep it in the oven for? I'm not real good at all this cooking stuff yet. Thanks! should i put foil on top of the dish or leave it uncovered?

  1. If everything is pre cooked I would just stick it in the oven at 350 for about 20 mins or so.
  2. until the cheese is melted and bubbly. :)
  3. if the chicken is cooked before you put it in the oven bake until bubbly about 30min if its not cooked about 45min to 50
  4. First of all COOK the rice first! (Unless it's minute rice, then just add a little more liquid than looks "normal." If you're working from scratch use your best judgement. If you're using a 9X13 pan I'd go 350-375 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour. It will start to bubble on the edges and brown slightly, that's when it's done. It's a good idea to let the casserole "rest" for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set- up and thicken properly. Sounds yummy! Enjoy!
  5. I would cover the dish in foil for the first 20 minutes it is in the preheated oven. I stick a toothpick in the center of the casserole to hold the foil up and to keep it from sticking to the cheese. After 20 minutes, I would uncover it, and probably let it bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. If you're not good at this stuff yet why are you attempting to cook with-out a recipe???????????Good Luck
