Chook Me!

What's the best beer to use when roasting "beer can chicken" on the grill?

I used Miller Lite because it was the only one available and it came out ok.

  1. Any crap beer (e.g. Miller Lite) will do. You won't get added flavor from a better beer.
  2. Root beer.
  3. Pabst Blue Ribbon
  4. I think it's Bud Light that is supposed to be the best one... I haven't tried mine out yet, but you can also use Fosters.
  5. Guiness! XD Or Henry's.
  6. The cheaper the better! Beer doesnt give it that much flavor, it's more about the moisture from the beer. You could even use coke but it may make it kinda sweet. Straight water with some salt/pepper/garlic/cumin in it works well too. Just put the water in an empty beer can. (there should be several of those laying around at any bbq :) )
  7. Don't bother using any of the better craft brews out there, you'll just be wasting your money. Stick to the major brands; Bud, Coors, Miller. I would recommend MGD because it has one of the largest profiles of a large brewery. Please, please, please don't actually drink any of them.
  8. we use bud.....yum
  9. I use Miller Lite as well just because it is what I drink. It doesn't matter really. Any beer will give a good flavor. It would be a waste of money to use an expensive import, unless you are going to make some sort of gravy with it after the chicken is done.
  10. PBR - I use it whenever I'm cooking. It has enough real beer flavor that it imparts a great flavor to the food, but none of the nasty you get when using a Miller or Bud product.
  11. you cant go wrong with the king of beers budweiser
  12. You can't go wrong with the Queen of Queers, Budweiser.
