How do you grill a chicken breast that will have an original bbq flavor from flame?
I'm trying to find how to grill a chicken breast that will have an original bbq flavor from charcoal or from flame.. I am not so into any dressing or marinating too much, so that I want that flavor instead.. Is there anyone who can help me with that ??

- When ever I grill chicken breast I actually cook it in the oven with some italian dressing first, it stays moist and the bbq flavor will add to it. Yummy you just made me hungry
- before u start cooking on the grill drizzle a little bbq sauce on the grill and put the chicken on top of it and the flame will push the flavors off the bbq sauce into the chicken
- I have a gas grill and use smoking pellets (you can buy them near the charcoal). I put them in foil packets and put that on the grill. If you have a charcoal grill, you can use regular smoking chips (that need to be soaked first, usually). I dry-rub my chicken first (paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper) and BBQ it like that, just brushing with BBQ sauce the last couple of minutes before it's done. Don't put the sauce on too early, or it will burn.......
- Slow cooking on indirect heat (put the chicken on the opposite side of the grill from the fire) with an aromatic wood such as apple is the best way to give the meat lots of flavor without dressing or marinating. You can then serve the chicken with a side bbq sauce that way everyone can add their own sauce to taste. I would also recommend that you try a light spice rub. You can put it on as light as you want, and the spices will add more of that bbq flavor since most authentic bbq is made with rubs instead of marinades. Spices are up to you, everyone has a combination of spices that they think are the best so its a matter of personal opinion.
- baste your chicken with oil and season with a salt and pepper... place on a hot gas grill and cook for 4 mins per side...remove to a warm platter and cover.let rest for 10 mins before serving.. It will have the charbroiled taste. If you are looking for a smoky taste.Use a charcoal grill and add a layer of hickory chips that have been soak in water for at least 1/2 hour...place chicken on grill and cover...cook as above.
- If the only flavor you are interested in is the BBQ, just season each side with salt and pepper, brush with a neutral oil like canola and place on a heavy grill (light wire grills don't have the heat capacity to get nice grill marks) on medium high. don't overcook or it will get too dry. Good luck
- use some liquid smoke
