What is the minimum amount of chicks a person can buy in NJ?
My family and I are going to start raising chickens for eggs, but we don't now if there is a NJ law about having to buy a minimum amount of chicks.

- i have no idea about state law, but i really doubt there is, loads of ppl just have 2 or 3 hens in the garden for eggs.

- I do now know about there being a minimum of chickens you have to buy, but rather if you can have any legally in your backyard. You should contact you local extension office or department of agriculture. They should be able to tell if you can have chickens and how many you can have if any within the city limits. But if you meant minimum order of chicks from a catalog, then it's 25.
- Well, there is one site that I know of that allows a minimum order of three chicks, but they don't have as wide as a selection. Here's their site: http://www.MyPetChicken.com As far as laws of how many you can keep, I'm not so sure on that.
