What are the genotypes of the mother, father, and there baby chicks in this word problem?
JOhn's favorite bird is the cocketiel. he is fond of his yellow bird. he knows that yellow feather color (g) is recessive to the more common dominant gray feather color (G). John breeds his yellow male with a gray female that has produced yellow chicks in the past. the female lays 5 eggs. all the chicks are gray! John is devestated. He concludes that he will never get any yellow chicks by breeding these two birds.

- Father GG Mother gg Siblings Gg
- Yellow male: gg Grey female that has procuded yellow chicks in teh past: Gg All grey chicks resulting: Gg Will the two ever have yellow chicks?: Yes, 50% probability in each egg Probability of all 5 being grey: .50^5th power: 3.125% What an unlucky man, lol.
