Do We Really Eat Church's Chicken and Popeyes Chicken?

Have you ever noticed that in Church's Chicken and Popeyes ads and commercials there's always a bunch of minorities in them? Are minorities the main consumers, or are they just trying to get us to eat their food? Or are they playing off the stereotype that black folks and other minorities love to eat fried chicken? I actually can't stand Church's. They fry everything in the same old grease. If you order a fish sandwich it will taste like fried chicken-YUCK. Popeyes is just OK. I would rather eat other places.

3. That's a good point!! i dont really watch tv so i haven't seen those commercials, but what can you really do black people are known for eating fried chicken.so what it's just fried chicken!!
4. There is definitely a stereotype, and I'm sure the racist trolls are going to jump all over this question :-) But I think it's a good one - are minorities the main consumers? I've also noticed the areas of towns that these restaurants tend to be built in, that could affect the demographics as well. I agree with you about Church's :-)
5. to be honest with you...I see more white ppl at church's and popeyes more than any other race of ppl ever....but "they" say all we "love' to eat is chicken
6. I love fried chicken, Church's is damn good chicken and at 2:00 A.M. after the club is closed the Church's around my house is packed with black folk and we don't give a Fck!!

10. The last time I went to Churches Chicken, I bought fried okra. That's it. I've never been to Popeyes, althought I heard that's the "best" and haven't been to KFC in like two years. Honestly, if I want fried chicken, i'm whipping it up myself in my own kitchen. Tastes better anyways. But, honestly, I don't eat a lot of fried foods. But, i'm not going to lie. I love some down home fried chicken. It's just not healthy to eat all the time. But yea, I think they are targeting minorities with this because it seems we eat more fried foods than whites. At least my experiences. I remember one time when I was kind of living with my now husband back in the day and he had a roommate. I made some fried chicken once and this dude was like, in awe, over it. Watching me cook it. He took one piece and almost at all the damn chicken! So, it's definitely not just us..ha!
11. Actually, I like Church's chicken. But we don't have any around here for miles and miles. I've got to drive all the way down to Richmond to get some Church's. Yes, it's ghe-hetto chicken. Yes, it's greasy and salty. That's why it's good! I like the buscuits too. I don't like Popeyes. Or KFC. I actually don't really eat fast food (except for Arby's and Chik-fil-A). It's not healthy. But when I used to travel all the time, I would always make a special trip to Church's. Is it really bad that I know where most of the Church's are all across the country? I've actually never seen a Church's chicken commercial. Maybe it's because we don't have any in this area.
12. It is a stereotype that I believe has some truth to it. I work in a pizza place that also serves chicken wings. I can guarantee you that 99% of the people who order the chicken are either black or mexican. Not trying to be mean, but it is what I have observed. So why not market to the 99% that eat it?
13. Im not black but I can tear up so Popeyes! Its actually my favorite fast food, but I will say that just in my experience I have noticed that it is mostly black people at the Churchs and Popeyes.but then again, i have also noticed that there is more Popeyes and Churches in black areas..for example, in a more white populated area you are more likely to see a Subway..im not sure why, but this is what I observed,,I live in louisiana by the way.
