How is robot chicken made?

I know they use toys but how do they make the toys move? someone told me they take a shot of the toy then move him a little bit, take another shot and so on. Im kind of interested in making utube vids like tht but just need to kno how to film it. Thanks =)

1. it like putting it in a certain postion recording that certain position but only for like a second and then moving it a little and then recording that postion and keep on doing the whole process and its animated
