- Around Easter the feed stores will have them a dime a dozen. Also read your local newspaper classified ads.
- kind of to early in the season, but you can also try this: http://agr.georgia.gov/00/channel_modifieddate/0,2096,38902732_39654299,00.html This is the Georgia State farmers market Bulletin, your State Government AGR should have something like this. Breeders and Producers have the ability to advertise and you can probably see it on line. Good Luck!
- try a feed store or a poultry hatchery. I doubt if you will get one this close to easter though. People should not get or give as easter gifts bunnies, ducklings, or chicks. what the heck are you going to do with a grown duck? or a grown chicken? chickens can get mean when they grow up. do you live on a farm? do you have the means to take care of one after it grows up? Consider getting a stuffed ducky or chick instead.
- http://www.the-coop.org/cgi-bin/UBB/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=001224 This has about 25 places listed
- I have no idea where you live, so I have no idea of local breeders in your area. Feathersite lists all the major hatcheries in the U.S. perhaps you can find one close to you. All hatcheries will ship orders via the mail. Though most do have minimum orders required. You should also check your local feed stores it is most likely they know several people who raise chickens and ducks.
- You need a couple of websites! http://www.ubuilderplans.com - they sell building plans for the City Biddy Hen House which is a backyard mini chicken coop and have a lot of poultry information on th site as well. One page is where to find your hens. http://www.poultryconnection.com - This website has a poultry forum and LOTS of hatchery links. http://www.eggbid.com and http://www.poultrylist.com are two poultry auction sites. Good luck
