how many days should zebra finch chicks be, in order to put band?

I've got chicks, they are 5 days old. When shall i apply bands on their foot?

1. The trick is to band chicks when they are old enough to get the band on, but not so young that it falls off if you are talking about "closred" bands.. Split bands can be applied at anytime during the birds life.
2. YOU ARE TOO LATE TO APPLY CLOSED RINGS THIS SHOULD BE DONE AT 2-3 DAYS,IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT TASK AND SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY SOME ONE WITH EXPERIENCE.
3. You have waited too long to fit closed rings to your Zebra chicks,this should be done3-4days after hatching, Are a member of the Zebra finch Society that is really the only reason to fit closed bands, You can always fit open bands and this is much easier and safer if you have not the experience.
