For those of you who have a 12 month old baby......?
Can you please tell me how much and what they eat during the day? This is my son's typical day: Bottle of milk in the morning Breakfast - 3/4 weetabix or a little porridge Snack - fromage frais or half a banana Lunch - 1/4 sandwich Snack - raisins or a piece of fruit like an apple or a pear 12 small spoonfuls of dinner, which would be something like chicken casserole, spaghetti bolognaise, shepherds pie with veg etc. Bottle of milk before bed Drinks - water through the day Is this normal or should he be eating more? Sometimes he won't even eat his snacks and will go hours until his next meal and even then he won't eat much. When he doesn't eat very often, he wakes during the night screaming with trapped wind- this doesn't seem to happen when he eats properly. Any suggestions? What do your children eat?

- 12 months is a growth spurt. It's fine.
- not sure, i feed mine on cat food mainly, and there's always alot of cointreau in the house.
- Sounds good except you need to up the amount you give him. Try 1/2 a sandwich And if he eats all that then just keep going up. I would also switch to a sippy cup and get him off the bottle. It can affect his teeth. I might also suggest giving him his milk some time on the day and doing water at night. Reason being is i used to give my son milk before bed, but i stopped one because it can rot the teeth and two because he would get a bad butt rash. When i switch to water before bed he no longer got them. Here is what i do for my son now he is 21 months old. Cereal in the morning with a banana. For lunch he gets either a sandwich, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets,or hot dog. All with fruit and if he finsihes that he gets some vanilla waffers of gram crakers. For dinner he gets what we are having and i just scoop out a bunch if he doesnt eat all of it then thats fine i know atleast he is eating till he is no longer hungry. And he gets veggies with his dinner And whatever you do dont listen to cupcake she sounds crazy.
- my kids tend to eat quite a lot so on an average day i'd say my 2 1/2 year old will eat about 4 times that amount where as my 12 month old will eat at least double. but every child is different and as long as he is getting plenty of fluids and is eating something then don't worry

- That is a good amount.
- my little girl is 13 months and this is her typical day : 7am bottle 8am breakfast : either -porridge, 1 weetabix, 1 slice of toast with either peanut butter or dairylea. 10am bottle 12noon lunch : sandwich, banana, yougart, rice cakes 2pm bottle 4pm dinner : cottage pie, spag bowl, fish, etc always veg 6pm bottle. seems like alot dosnt it, but its not she only eats what she wants. and she drinks water and organic juice through the day shes not overweight shes really healthy and walking loads so she needs a wide variety of food to give her the energy she needs. as for why ur child wakes im not entirely sure so my suggestion would be get chekked over by a doc just to be sure, hope this helped a little x
- My daughter is 27 months and eats about the same amount as your little boy. I was always at health visitor going on and on about the amount she ate, but they said was fine. What they did suggest was cutting out her milk in the morning and that did help her eat more. I wouldn't worry too much, but if it puts your mind at rest speak to HV or Doctor and keep a food diary to show them. Take Care and hope it improves x
- My son is 15 months and this has been what he's eating (roughly) since he was 12 months old or so: Breakfast - 1-2 eggs, whole banana, maybe 1/4 cup oatmeal Lunch - 1 piece bread w/peanut butter, half piece fruit Dinner - about 1 cup of whatever we have for dinner (casserole, veggies, etc.) half to whole piece of fruit I feed him whole milk in a sippy cup at every meal and throughout the day (unless he's walking with his cup and then it has water in it). He doesn't snack regularly, but when he's hungry in between meals, he has fruit, crackers and yogurt. He's not a regular meat or cheese eater (unless it's disguised as mac n cheese), but we're working on it. He LOVES fruits - hasn't met one he doesn't like yet. There are days when he eats more and seems like I can make enough food for him, but then there are days when he eats barely anything at all. My doc recommended pediasure for when he goes a few days without eating much, just to make sure he's still getting vitamins and nutrients. Just a note - babies tend to not each much when they're teething. Perhaps that's what happening with your son. Also, my son had a bout where he didn't sleep well for a few months too (and he's normally a GREAT sleeper). It was just a phase and he got through it and now sleeps like a champ again.
- This sounds fine. My son turns 13 months tommorow, and he has good and bad days eating. If he is happy don't worry. Kids this age are so active, I think its hard for them to concentrate on eating because they want to go all the time. I'd be thrilled if my kid ate that much, he drinks about the same amount of fluids.
