How to make a brooder or incubator for chicks?

2. in the current edition of Backyard Poultry they have an article about making a incubator out of an electric frying pan filled with sawdust. They set the fryingpan way low and cover the eggs and a little cup of water with a glass pie plate propped up a little to let the air in. You want to turn them twice a day.
3. You can poop in your hands and make a fort for the chicks with your feces.
