Chook Me!

how do you make a homemade incubator for ball python eggs?

I have heard that u can fill a fish tank 1/3 full of water and use a fish tank heater to heat the water and float the eggs in tubaware containers on styrofoam above that. Will this work? and is there better ideas out there? for your information I have met many poeple on this site that know a great deal about the care and breeding of ball pythons. I am asking a question, u either answer the question , or in your case know absolutly nothing about this and move on to the next question.... thanks anyways

  1. Why don't you get a good book on caring for and breeding royal/ball pythons? It would be much more reliable than the answers you sometimes get here
  2. Yes I agree, you should get a book or ask on aussiepythons.com in the exoctics section. ive heard of people just getting styrofoam boxes and putting in a pillow and a blanket and putting eggs in there, but im not sure if it works.
  3. You can always get a Hovabator for 40 bucks, which is more reliable than the homemade fish tank incubator. http://lllreptile.com/
  4. NO ! NO ! NO ! Do NOT float the eggs in water ! Get a GOOD care book on snakes from your ;library or reptile store. A good book will have a section on reproduction - and how to care for the eggs.
