Chicken Broccoli Casserole recipe question?

I found a recipe I'd love to try ... it's as follows: INGREDIENTS 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 1 pound broccoli florets, cooked 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup bread crumbs DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Boil chicken until tender and shred or cut into bite size pieces. Meanwhile, steam broccoli until crisp but tender. In a small bowl mix together the soups and season to taste. Set aside. In a 9x13 inch baking dish layer the chicken, broccoli, soup mixture, and cheese. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top with additional cheese and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. MY QUESTION is ... do you think it would taste okay if I used a broccoli and cauliflower mix in there instead of just broccoli?? I don't eat cauliflower but everyone that is coming from dinner LOVES it. I just wasnt sure if the two shouldnt go together in a casserole or if it would be ok. If I'm using frozen mixed veggies, are you suggesting that I only steam them til they are partially cooked???

  1. I've used the mixed vegetables before and it tasted great.
  2. Broccoli and caulifower go perfectly together. Make sure you undercook the veggies though (very al dente), so they don't turn mushy when you bake them too
  3. One of my favorite recipes.I thaw the cauliflower and broccoli and stir all together.I do not pre-cook the veggies.I would use more chicken, add a little sour cream and top with canned fried onion rings or crushed potato chips.
