Chook Me!

I have had a chicken pox vaccination but unsure about some things?

I was given a chicken pox vaccination as a child and now i am 14. I wanted to know if the vaccine protects you all your life or just for like a year or something. You do have to get chicken pox once right ?

  1. I didn't know there was a vaccine for chicken pox. Measles, Rubella, Mumps, Polio, etc, yes, but not chicken pox.
  2. Vaccinations are for the whole life. Inside the vaccination is a little bit of chicken pox, so your body says it already got it, and can't get it again.
  3. This vaccine is relatively new. By new, I mean within approximately the last ten years. It is my understanding that you only need the vaccination once. No, you shouldn't get chicken pox if you've been vaccinated.
  4. hope fully not. someone in my english class got chicken pox. stupid chicken pox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
