How much does making a chicken coop cost.?

I'm getting chickens and i want to know how much it will cost for materials to make the coop. I'm going to be using wood and I'm buying this from the home depot. Also im building a chicken coop not a pigeon one.

1. it depends on the material that you will be using. the wire and wood or metal. and where you plan on buying this from.
2. I made a small pigeon coop that was 6ft X 4ft, and 6.5ft high. We used 2x2 wood beams and a good quality wire mesh that was more expensive than just chicken wire, to keep predators out. It cost around $500 to make. It probably would have been 50-100 dollars cheaper to use chicken wire, but still... pretty expensive. For chickens you will need more ground space and less height (if you're planning on having a roof at all), so it will be much wider around than mine (therefore, more wire), and you still need to make the wooden nesting boxes for the chickens. I think I can safely say you will spend much more than I did.
