Whole Wheat Rolls Stuffed With BBQ Chicken?

I am interested in making whole wheat rolls stuffed with Shredded BBQ Chicken that I make in the crock pot as a tasty quick lunch for work. I like my rolls to be a bit on the sweet side, any suggestions for the bread dough and I do not have a bread machine. Just to clearify I want to make the rolls myself then before baking stuff them with the chicken! So I need a recipe for whole wheat rolls! Thank you!

  1. I would really recommend using King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread rolls which are now sold in whole wheat!!! (they are so delicious... ) They are bought in a pack in the bakery area of the grocery store, in a big orange and white square shaped bag. Sweet Wheat rolls 3 cups wheat flour 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tablespoon salt 1 packet yeast 1 cup milk Directions: Add all ingredients together and mix like crazy. Then set aside for about 15 minutes with a cloth over the bowl. If dough seems to dry add a bit of water as you mix. Roll into preferred sized balls and put a small cut in the center top of each ball (this will make them pretty as they bake). Cook in oven for 10 minutes @ 345 degrees.
  2. http://thebakingduchess.blogspot.com/2008/04/pork-and-mushroom-filled-buns.html you could adapt this recipe and make your own chicken filling. not sure about how to substiture whole wheat flour for the white.
  3. Making rolls/breads is so dang much work, more power to you. I would highly recommend visiting allrecipes.com you'll find about anything you want on there as well as reviews by regular cooks about what worked or didn't work in a recipe, I find that very helpful
