Church Chicken Dinner Fund raiser?

why is it that many Christian Churches hold Chicken or spagetti dinner fund raisers, and you never ever see Muslim or Jewish fund raiser dinners....is it because non-christian faiths are self supporting, and do not rely on outside help for the upkeep of their worship centers?
