Church's Chicken and Kool-Aid Commercials...?
I've been paying attention over the past few months, and their commercials feature no white people. Just blacks and hispanics..Strikes me as enormously supporting stereotypes..Obviously it's on purpose, the whole 'fried chicken and grape drink' thing(see:chris rock). Has anyone else noticed this? It's half funny, half effed up...

- i've got a dvr, so no. i don't watch commercials
- We rarely see Chuches chicken commercials here. Its ok though, the black and hispanic communties do not get as much print/ad/commercial work, and if this company chooses to help that out, its fine, we all need work, and I think its great they are sharing the jobs to a clientel that doesnt get as much work. Churches shows grape coolaid on them? Hm never ever saw that. Commercials also have target audiences, since friend chicken is not a diet food, you will not see body builders chomping away at it, or targets leaning towards those on diets either. They are targeting who they think is most likely to visit thier stores and buy. If grape kool aid is representative of black history or culture then it is trying to bring back home feeling memories.
- Don't watch much tv but does it stick out if a commercial has an all white cast ?
