Please help - how to grill chicken and vegetables!?

I'd like to grill chicken and vegetables, minus the oil and minus the hassle. Is it possible to just stick it onto the grill (I've got George Foreman) and maybe add some pepper or lemon to give it some taste? maybe some garlic? Is it ok to omit olive oil because of the non-stick? What are the quickest, tastiest and healthiest ways to cook the chicken and vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, red peppers, mushrooms, etc?

  1. just wipe grill w/ oil on papertowel
  2. Use just a tiny bit of oil. Either use a non stick spray or just dip a pastry brush or paper towelin oil/fat of choice and just give it a quik wipe. Then add your chicken and veggies.
  3. 1st off, try Pam cooking spray. Some of the cooking sprays have olive oil ones. Now I am kind of confused, a regular grill or GF Grill? Regular, just season the chicken and put it on the grill. You can use non stick foil too! Veggies on the regular grill, cut them, spray them with Pam( or whatever you use) sprinkle with seasoning (there is a veggie seasoning available in dry form) then wrap it up. Put on the grill 15 minutes one side, then flip them for another 8 or so minutes. Very delish!!

Serving Suggestion: Serve with sliced fresh pineapple and green grapes.
  5. Yup, yup, yup, yup and yup, you've answered all of your own questions....................sounds yummy!!
  6. I have a foreman grill and YES you can omit the oil completely. Unless, you scrape off the non-stick surface. I rinse the boneless, skinless chicken breast. Heat the grill, sprinkle some seasonings or juice (like the lemon you mentioned) on the bottom grill. I place the breast on the grill, season the side up and put down the top of the grill. Cook for about 11 mins. I have never grilled veggies but what I would do is cut the veggies long ways...instead of carrot circles or coins, cut like carrot sticks.... 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. Wash them and not dry them off or spritz them with a lemon juice. Then grill them, The reason I would have them wet before I grilled them is that I believe it will help to steam cook the inside of the veggies without them burning on the outside.
  7. I would never grill chicken without oil. If you are talking about omitting oil, you are probably considering removing the skin as well. Steaming chicken fish and veggies is a great way to eat healthy. If you use a bamboo steamer, place parchment paper beneath your food. The parchment paper will prevent you from inadvertantly flavoring the bamboo. Using oil is not necessarily a bad thing. Look up the difference between good and bad fats. Good luck. Oh yeah... Pressure cookers are often times faster than microwaves, ad can be a healthy way to cook. A good bamboo steamer is about 10 or 15 dollars. A good pressure cooker is close to 100 dollars.
  8. I'd prefer to use a charcoal or gas grill & brush veggies with olive oil. I'd wrap onion & lemon slices with each piece of chicken in foil. You could wrap carrots, broccoli, & mushrooms in foil too. A George Forman grill has limited surface space to do everything.
