Chook Me!

What goes with broccoli cheese and rice casserole?

I am going to be making Broccoli, cheese and rice casserole for some people at church who just had a baby and was wondering what else I should make/get to go with it....at our house..I add chicken to it and eat it as a meal...with maybe some bread.

  1. Green salad with red and yellow peppers and fresh sourdough bread. :)
  2. Chicken and maybe a jello salad.
  3. I think it sounds great with the chicken in it. It will make it a whole meal. If you don't have chicken to put in it....cubed turkey or ham would also be really good. Good Luck!
  4. Fried chicken would be perfect with that.
  5. mashed potaotyes
  6. sound good
  7. You could add some cauliflower as well. If you are serving in lasagna type dishes how about a creamy fish casserole in another. There is quite a good recipe here. http://www.cybershingle.com/recipes/pages/seafood/seafood-easycasserole.htm
  8. that is my favorite!!!! can i r.s.v.p?
  9. That's very thoughtful of you~ Perhaps a salad, bread and adding the chicken would be great* perhaps a card to send your best wishes/congrats to their new born*~:)
  10. You'd be surprised at how many people do not like broccoli. Make the casserole a side dish and serve meat/chicken as the main meal. A tossed salad is always a good side too. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but my family would not eat the broccoli casserole. This should be served only to your family and not to company unless they are strict vegetarians.
  11. As soon as I seen 'broccoli cheese and rice' I instantly thought chicken. Although I wouldn't add the chicken. Broccoli cheese and rice is easily one of my favorite things to eat. I eat it by itself all the time, but it's also sooo good with chicken.
