Chook Me!

Help!! I just ate too much, what should I do?

Okay so ive been trying SO hard to lose these last 5 pounds by Halloween... ive been doing really good, very low fat and low calorie diet, but high in protein anyways, i just pigged out horribly. i just ate 10 chicken wings (500 calories) half a box of Debbie cakes (800 calories) and a HUGE bowl of ice cream with a TON of chocolate syrup (400 calories) i ate so much i felt sick, like i was about to throw up. those chicken wings tasted like pure fat and it was disgusting but i ate them all anyways. i was wondering what i should do?? i dont want my body to store all that fat!! i ate about 3 hours ago and i still feel SO gross... i plan on going to the gym like every day for 1 or 2 hours.... should i go to the gym for an extra 2 hours? maybe extra 3 hours? should i go for a walk right now?? (its almost midnight) im thinking about doing a fast or master cleanse of some sort.... btw, im a 20 year old female, 5'2 and 117 pounds... i want to be 112 like i was in high school hehe thanks for any help! <3 I dont have a gag reflex, and actually ive got somewhat of a germaphobic/paranoia of throwing up. ive thrown up like once in my whole life, when i was in kindergarten. i remember how horrified i felt, and never did it again, ever.

  1. Well, its too late now but I would have drank alot of water then stuck my finger down my throat. Unfortunatly I dont have a gag reflex so I cant do this, but if i were you i wouldve.
  2. Tack some antacid and forget about it. Just don't do it too often. Just go back to where you were on your diet, keep up the good work!
  3. wow way to hard on yourself.
  4. Forget about it; it's done. The fact that you don't feel so hot is a plus. It will make you think twice before doing it again. But let it go this time. Everyone who has ever dieted has slipped up at least once, usually more. Do NOT try to make yourself throw up. It's very dangerous to start something like that. You could end up with all sorts of health problems. Just get back into your healthy-eating routine and put this out of your mind. Good luck.
  5. Hi there: I am a clinical psychologist and worked in an eating disorder clinic. Throwing up has a lot of very bad effects on your body and health, and if you make it a habit your electrolytes can get so out of balanced that it triggers heart problems and even a heart attack. I've seen this in several patients. So,definitely do not throw up, and don't do dangerous things like walk around by yourself really late at night! And defintiely don't go to the gym for 3 hours at a time. You may really injure your body and strain it, and you're not going to get the same return from your workouts, since you will physically wear out and not be able to really do cardio the way you want to be calorie efficient. I understand your goals. I have a major event I am working towards in 3 1/2 weeks from now, so I have been eating 5-6 small meals a day and working out (3 days cardio a week, 3 days strength training) on a regular schedule. But this weekend I was traveling and let myself go a lot with all the good food around! I think I may have banked about 3,500 calories extra for the weekend. Now that I am back home, I am getting ready to start on a plan for the rest of this week to undo the damage I did this weekend. Here's what I'd recommend to you. I think this approach is healthy and will not harm your body. For the next week, I will be cutting back my calories by 200-250 each day, and bolstering my exercise by that same amount. So, if I usually take in about 1500/day, I'm going to try to get to about 1250/day, then do a little cardio EVERY DAY this week (40-45 minute sessions). If you do the math, that will be 250+250 = 500/day that I will be cutting. 500 X 7 days should undo that 3,500 I banked this weekend eating all that yummy banquet food. Your extra calorie intake is much less than mine! It should only take you 3-4 days to work that off so don't worry. Don't be too hard on yourself, we all falter sometimes. But next time try to remember what you put in your mouth is a conscious decision. No one forces you to eat, you can direct this process yourself. A little more now and then is ok, but if you have certain goals in mind, then just know that those extra indulgences will take a few days to "undo." So, it only takes 30 minutes to eat all that stuff, but it could take up to a week or so to work it back off! If you still think it's worth it, then have those treats! If not, then stop what you're doing immediately and distract yourself with something non-food (going out with a friend, etc.). Also, a suggestion for your workouts. Muscle burns more than fat, so you might want to conside strength training 2-3x a week. A lb. of muscle burns 25 calories an hour just sitting there, while a lb. of fat burns a measly 2 calories at rest. To get the most out of your cardio sessions, you should do some interval training (altering between fast and slow intervals in your cardio). Interval training burns more calories than sustained training cardio, and interval training helps your body to continue to burn MORE calories for up to 24 hours after your workout. I hope this helps you, and let me know how your goals come along! Let me know if you have any other questions.
