What is the difference between the Dixie Chicks and Etta James?
James: "He aint my President." Chicks:"We're ashamed hes from Texas" Will James receive the same amount of flack the Chicks did? http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
Public Comments
- probably
- James: speaks from the truth, her heart chicks: dumb airheads with liberal political leanings!
- No. I think the Chicks were being provocative. They didn't have their song used by somebody else to make a point.
- Hell, Etta won't get flack from me. I agree with her comments.
- May be Maybe not ... i hope not.
- James made her comment to fellow Americans. Dixie Chicks said it to a bunch of Europeans. Etta James is not likely to retract her statement. Dixie Chicks apologized when they saw their cd sales & concert tickets plummeting. I would've had more respect for them if they stuck by their statement.
- The difference is, Etta James has been around much longer which makes her much wiser and in tune with life in America. And the second reason is, Etta has been a favorite singer of mine for many years. I am a white boy from the South who thinks the Dixie Chicks stink!
- Etta James was insulted that her song was used in such a way. I would be, too, if I was her. She IS the best, after all.
- Etta James is going to get a lot of flack. The media is even more frenzied than it was just a few years ago. It will be run into the ground. Already her manager/publicist (son) is saying it ain't so... She's been in the public eye long enough to know about the fishbowl of fame... And so it begins....
- Class.
- ETTA JAMES DOESN'T CARE... She's already in every music Hall of Fame and has been through so much she'd probably smack Obama in the mouth and pull out Beyonce's weave.
