  1. umm sweet dixie chicks : |
  2. Surely you know they are gone for a good reason Although I never agreed with Bush what they did was wrong and that is why they are gone and can stay gone. Country radio here still doesn't play them!!
  3. The only thing that I know is that the main singer had another baby and Emily got a divorce.
  4. They broke up this time for good. I guess if Natalie Maine would have kept her mouth shut they would still be on the charts. After Natalie dissed the United States, there wasn't a country music station who would play their songs any more. The only way they got any airplay was to turn to alternative stations.
  5. They're one of my favorites, too! The best source for current info is probably here: http://www.dixiechicksfans.net/ They are most certainly not broken up, but it doesn't look like they have any immediate plans. The latest news has Martie playing this summer at a bluegrass festival. Of course, you probably know that their last album, "Taking the Long Way," went gold and won five Grammys in 2006. I saw them on the tour for that album, out in D.C. -- fabulous performance before a very enthusiastic, sold-out crowd. It's a shame that they became the scapegoat for so much hatred and ignorance ... and judging from what I see here, the sentiment still exists. The only thing Natalie Maines ever said was that she was ashamed that George Bush was from their home state. THAT'S IT. They didn't "diss the United States," they criticized the president -- just like a lot of people who hate the Chicks are now probably busy criticizing Obama. Last time I checked, the president is not synonymous with "America." Yet from that single comment, the Chicks were turned into a lightning rod for any kind of criticism of U.S. foreign policy. Their music was banned, they were cacricatured as terrorist-loving traitors, and Natalie received death threats .... for saying she was ashamed that Bush was from Texas. Well, you know what? I'm ashamed that George Bush is from the United States of America. Dissent is patriotic -- if people never disagreed with their government, we'd still be British subjects. Sorry for the rant, but it's ridiculous that people blew this up so much, and that they cannot seem to get over it. GROW UP, people.
  6. The porky pig looking one is currently being sued for slander by some guy in Arkansas is the only news I heard about them for awhile. And gnab gib that is far from the only thing they did. They also slammed country music icons Reba Mcentire and Toby Keith for no good reason, as well as insulted country music FANS by calling them ignorant hicks. The short squatty one always running her mouth is what done them in. And you're damn right I'm busy criticizing Obama.A guy who had an American racist preacher for 20 years, ties with domestic terrorists William Ayers and Luis Farrakaan,ACORN,and a " Economic Stimulus" plan that has the followin pork in it: • $1 billion for Amtrak • $50 Million for The National Endowment for the Arts • $400 million for global-warming • $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects • $650 million for digital TV conversion coupons • $600 million for the Federal Government to buy new hybrid cars • $7 billion for modernizing federal buildings and facilities • $81 billion for Medicaid • $36 billion for expanded unemployment benefits • $20 billion for food stamps • $83 billion for the earned income credit for people who don't pay income tax • $252 billion is for income-transfer payments • $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film • $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker • $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters • $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters • $400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's • $1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs • $125 million for the Washington sewer system • $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion • $75 million for "smoking cessation activities." • $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges • $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction • $500 million for state and local fire stations • $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings • $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service • $412 million for CDC buildings and property • $160 million for volunteers at the Corporation for National Community Service • $200 million for reseeding the grass on the National Mall • $300 million for Government to purchase “green” electric golf carts Yeah. That's gonna STIMULATE the economy alright! Keep living in fantasy land with colorful rainbows and butterflies people..
