What type of chicken goes in a rotisserie?

Whole Fryer? Oven Stuffer Roaster? We just got a rotisserie chicken maker and I have no idea what kind of chicken to buy? Help!

  1. Usually a whole chicken fryer... What you do is pierce it threw the whole chicken, and it rotisseries around, cooking it all... They are wonderful, and so juicy.
  2. i have no idea what you are talking about, but you could use any chicken that you would roast whole.
  3. Jennifer H, in the poultry section at your store, pick up a whole chicken usually they are roasting chickens. But here is something, roasting and frying are the same thing. Boiler and Casserole birds are different, they are much tougher, but full of flavor for soups, casseroles, and anything that has to be cooked slowly for any great length of time. Chris
  4. It is a roaster. Roasters are a larger bird and work out best for this type of cooking.
  5. use a whole chicken, prepare it for the grill. then as its cooking pour beer on it or wood chips for smoke. have fun
