What needs to be in a homemade Incubator?

I'm making an in incubator for a science project. I was woundering if anyone new what should be in a chicken incubator! Thanks, ~~Natalie These baby chickens will be added to my flock of 13 laying hens and a roo.

1. Mostly they need heat and humidity. I made an incubator from a foam cooler and a light fixture. Get the book "Storey's Guide to Raising Poultry" It has all the information you need to make an incubator And successfully hatch eggs. I hope you are planning to raise the chickens after they hatch. I have seen too many science project incubators where nobody thought about what happens after they hatch.
2. I've successfully made three incubators the last one was designed so that a 60 watt bulb would heat and circulate the air. It is difficult to explain so here is a site that should help.
