Chook Me!

What's the best way to adjust a roosters attitude without having to put him in a pot?

Rhode Island Red about to catch a boot to the backside. This one is particularly stubborn. He seems to feel that his female caretaker is nothing more than a large chicken, his to with as he pleases. I've corrected roosters that misbehaved in the past, as I said this one is stubborn. Just checking to see if anyone has a suggestion.

  1. Pen him up all alone for a while. He should settle down. Then again, I don't know what he's doing that's wrong... Hope this helps!
  2. What, exactly, do you expect of him? He's a ROOSTER, not a dog. Not a cat, not your imaginary friend. He's going to be loud, bossy, territorial, and occasionally mean. There's no changing that. You can use positive reinforcement. Give him treats when he's doing what you want. Other than that, well, should have done more research before getting a rooster.
  3. Get him framiurizdwith his enviorment ad one person forstarters. Talk to him and treat him with respect, love and compashion! It works on Everybody!
