is it just me or is the new popeyes chicken commercial sterotypical?
Why do black people have to dance and smile for the chicken?

- i guess that the black community is just their target market. but i do agree. it is very stereotypical.
- hahaha i'm glad im not the only one that noticed it, i think its borderline sterotypical and advertising to those who consume it. don't get me wrong, my family is white and we LOVE popeyes chicken but maybe they did studys on who their biggest consumers are and maybe it is black people. so i think it is a little bit of both.
- I am afraid I have not seen the commercial yet. However, if you do find it offensive you should most certainly contact the corporate HQ for Popeyes (it should be easy to find on the internet at www.popeyeschicken.com or something like that). Let them know of your concerns. I think they will take action either by pulling the ad, changing it, giving you free coupons, etc. They actually WANT input from the public/customers because they want to make money and they don't make money if they upset people!!! So please exercise your free opinions directly to Popeye's and I bet you will get satisfaction. Also let others know so they can also contact Popeye's as well if they find it offense too. I will check the commercial out myself to see if I might contact them myself. Thanks for bringing this to my (and the public forums) attention. I appreciate it and I bet others do too!
- well i guess that would be dependent upon who produced the commercial. If it were a black producer you wouldnt say so, but if it were a white producer you would say yes. Right?
- thats the base they want to go after
- Well,it's just that their target audience are black people.
