- Sanitize a plastic bag. Line the bottom with moist sphagnum moss. Put the eggs on top of the moss. Seal the bag. Place the bag on top of your refrigerator. Bag: a couple of cents. Sanitizer: a couple of bucks. Moss: nothing, if you can gather and dry it yourself. Being able to hatch the eggs without buying something you don't really need: priceless.
