Chicken soup question:Can you substitute beef bouillon for chicken broth ? How to make the best stock?

making chicken noodle soup, have chicken in pot making a stock and dont want to run and get bouillon cubes. i have beef bouillon 'powder' of some sort and was wondering if that would taste good with the chicken already cooking in the pot. Alternately is it just a matter of cooking the chicken for longer to get the stock to be more flavorful? how long do you simmer the chicken for stock? 1 hr? 4hrs? 10???

  1. You would be better off using water than adding beef boullion.
  2. if you add the beef bullion your gonna get beefy chicken...but it could be interesting! best best is to stick with letting your chicken create it's own broth or make a quick run to the store.
  3. Youd be better off doing a veggie broth. And you only cook it until the noodles are done.
