  1. I absolutly love chickens.... Here is your answer to your question..... FEEDING: You should feed them chick starter for at least 6 weeks. I go as long as till 2 months. Then start to mix in scratch feed and a week after devrease starter then eventually just have scratch feed. When they are older if they like fruits a veggies, its all on them, I feed mine romaine lettuce, apple skins, and some little pieces of bread mixed in. HOUSING: As for housing, you should keep them inside until they either have there feathers STARTING to come in and its warm outside above 50 degrees or at 2 months old. I recommend a baby crib the ones with the screen around them, a play pen, a dog cage, or a kiddypool... a lot of success with kiddy pool, i like them... Place shavings such as pine or old towels or puppy pads. Place on the bottom of the area they are staying in known as a brooder (kid pool, crip, baby pen, cage) and place I recommend until they get a little bigger automatic waterer and feder from wallmart or petsmart for small dog or cats. I only buy the feeder the waterers are very difficult if they do not have a lid on them. Or You can use which I found later on which is a inch in a half thick/tall metal bowels. Placing marbles all on the bottom so there arnt any drowning of them. ADULT HOUSING : When they are adults or should I ssay 2 months old. They need a safe area to live at so that no critteres get in the area your keeping htem at and kill them. If you have a fenced in yard thats great. A dog kennel with a shed connected to it is great and lock the shed up at night need any help or other qs ask me i raise chickens for 16 years
