How can you tell the gender of my baby chicks and ducklings?
I have 2 RI Red chicks, 1 Bantam, 2 Mallards, and one Yellow/White Duckling. AND what should their nesting boxes be? I need one female name for a yellow/white chick. We are going to move them outside in a coop soon and I don't know what I should use as nesting boxes. Any ideas?

- you need to check when they are a few days old. with chickens, if they are female, when you open their wings, the little feathers coming in will alternate short tall, short tall. A males will be all strait across. dont know about ducks. when i have raised baby chicks, i just have a big plastic bin about the size of a laundry basket. attatch a clamp light in one corner so they can stay warm but move away from the heat if they want. constantly measure the temp. it should be about 98 degrees right under the light.
