What is the building next to the chicken coop in Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life?

i started to play Harvest Moon A WonderFul Life again on GameCube. the old building next to the chicken coop is locked and i have never figured out what it is.

1. most would tell you it should work out in the end.
2. I have to admit, I never got very far on that game (I always got bored in the 2nd year) but as far as I know it never does anything.
3. The building was suppose to be where the horse was suppose to stay, but in the end, they decided not to do it and the japanese never took it out. So now it's just there. In Another Wonderful Life though, you can change that to a place to put chicken in so that they won't run around the farm.
