I need a cheap house/coop/shed/shelter for ducks, any ideas?
I really want ducks, but the costs involved are pretty alarming (incubator, etc.) I need a very cheap safe and comfortable solution for housing 3 to 6 ducks. I will get them as babies. Best response gets best answer! sorry, additional details, my winters are cold, and i live in new england so their is no way in heck i'm paying for shipping from the uk

- It kinda depends on what your winter is like. If you have a warm winter where you don't get snow you could get a cheap dog house just drill a hole so you can put a heat lamp in it or you can buy plywood and build a box. The nice thing if you build the box is you could make it tall enough so that in the winter you can put food and water in the house with them.
- Duck coops are fairly expensive but you can get them fairly cheap at the following website
- The ducks will live in a medium sized dog house with hay or straw for bedding. Put the dog house it in a secure fence against foxes and other predators.
- Do you have an old shed that you could convert or even half shed. That's what I did. Still looks normal on the outside but inside is a very bad D.I.Y job although it does the job! I used any old bits of wood and went to a local D.I.Y store for wire etc. Cost was very low. Nobody but you will see in the shed so who cares how bad your woodwork skills are!
