can i use my incubator for ducks then chicken eggs,i was told duck eggs release a gas which harm other eggs?

it may just be an old wives tale? but i was told not to use a duck incubator for 4 years if you want to incubate other eggs

1. I have never heard of that, Duck eggs take longer than chicken egg tho. And you need to clean it out each time after your done with it. Check out www.backyardchickens.com I used this site daily. It's very helpful and I learn so much stuff. I know you can find the answers to your questions on there.
