If you knew every bit of dirt that went on in a Factory Farm would you become vegan?
After watching the Documentary Death on a Factory Farm, I was literally sick to my stomach watching the way pigs/hogs were treated. Knowing that the majority of our meat & poultry derives from such conditions is making me consider purchasing off family friend farmers and avoiding whole sale meat at major food outlets. Would you consider this option after knowing the conditions of the animals prior to it sitting on your plate? Do you think it's an excuse mistreat animals because of what they're going to become? And do you think the laws of euthanasia of animals should change?

- Stricter regulations, for sure. I don't think a meatless nutrition is for everyone. I myself am a very minimal meat eater, but I don't want to rule out that choice for every one.
- Don't believe everything you see, ever. My extended family is in the farming industry, and do not mistreat any of their livestock. No, heavens no I wouldn't become vegan. It is hard enough to eat properly and get good nutrition everyday, anyway.
- i've seen a video on this before and i know they're treated bad, but it won't make me become a vegan. i would like to see better treatment of animals, and that's pretty much all i would care about
- So after watching one movie, you decide to base your entire opinion of how the farming industry works? How would you feel if there was a video showing farm workers urinating on crops (lettuce for example), would you say "wow, I didn't know every place was like this!"?? I hope not, it's somewhat true that first impressions are important, HOWEVER developing a true understanding means viewing all the info from both sides. (IE: Not relying on PETA for all your info or going to youtube and searching something like "slaughterhouse abuse".) I've known this for quite some time, and no... I did not consider going vegetarian or vegan. I think it's sick that some individuals get away with such illegal activity (Yes, abusing animals is ILLEGAL!). Hopefully by these events being shown, more producers will step up disciplinary actions against the people doing this. Thankfully more humane methods (if practical) are being developed. A new form of chicken slaughter is being experimented with in which they are gassed with CO2 and remove oxygen within a container. This is possibly more humane/sanitary/efficient than the current stun/bleed method.
