  1. its very easy to get a cheap incubator online, from about £10, try feecycle
  2. no need to make a cheap incubator, just sit on it. like birds do? haha..
  3. use a light in a suitable distance
  4. I'm guessing a desk lamp with a bare bulb. You could also try stacking towels/blankets on a radiator, but we're trying to create an environment that emulates a mother chicken sitting on top of the egg, so heat will reach the egg from the top.
  5. A CARDBOARD BOX INCUBATOR 1 The following supplies are needed to construct an inexpensive cardboard box incubator which will hold three dozen or more eggs: * Two cardboard boxes, one 16" (40.6 cm) wide x 20" (50.8 cm) long x 12-1/2" (31.8 cm) high, the other 14" (35.6 cm) wide x 18" (45.7 cm) long x 13" (33.0 cm) (or more) high * Single-strength pane of glass 16" (40.6 cm) x 20" (50.8 cm) * 1/4" (0.6 cm) mesh welded hardware cloth 18" (45.7 cm) x 22" (55.9 cm) * Commercial heating unit or porcelain socket and light bulb * Cake tin (water pan) 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) deep x approximately 9" (22.8 cm) x 14" (35.6 cm) * Glue * Masking or scotch tape * Newspapers * Two brooding or incubator thermometers
  6. I know of two ways to make a home made incubator. One is a box with a glass top and moist towelettes with a bare bulb and a thermometer to measure temperature. The other one is made with some heat tape, a cooler box or an Ice chest and a thermometer. The latter is easier to control with the temperature (heat tape, duh. haha)
  7. It will depend ..if you are trying to hatch eggs ..they have to be rotated through out the day..you could try this.. get a aquarium..and some butter cup holders..one bird and egg per cup place soft unscented paper towels in the cup holder for protection and bedding place birds or eggs in cups place a heat lamp over the aquarium..close.. but to so close it burns them..just enough to keep them warm it is warm out side where I am at now so you may have some luck inn hatching the eggs...it will depend on how old the little one inside is .. gentle rotate eggs about every two hours..or more Good luck
  8. get a heat lamp, a plastic box or cardboard box, a plate/flat bowl filled with water, wire mesh with tissue/hay/something soft ... get the plastic box and put it over the top of the water bowl, put the wire mesh across inside the plastic or cardboard box and put the eggs on it, the heat should make the water condensate ... also every 20-30 mins the eggs will need to be moved .. hope this helps
