Chook Me!

How accurate is it from a biological perspective to say "women create life"?

As I understand it an embryo is essentially as a clump of dividing cells. It is also an separate organism that uses a females womb like a egg would use an incubator. So granted women are more involved in the lifes development. So what does it mean when some feminists say that women are superior because they "create" life. * This is not an attack on feminists so please try avoid Ad Hominem attacks.

  1. 50% or so
  2. For women to create life, they are in need of man. Life is dependent on both existences.
  3. women give birth but they also suck the life out of men so there value to society is basically a wash. lol
  4. The human race, no, ANY race could not go on with out the male or female. Each play a significant role. You cannot continue a race without the male, and you cannot continue a race with out a female.
  5. This question is relatively easy to answer. If they think (the feminist) that they create life, tell them to try on their own. Period...end of debate. Don't take this as being harsh. I really wasn't trying to be.
  6. Men create life too! Every time they jack off they have a whole pile of life on their chest. Women birth them but both create them.
  7. It takes a man and a woman together to create life. That life is created at conception, when the egg cell is given the rest of the genetic material it requires to form into a human being. It develops in the woman's body, but that wouldn't happen without the man's genetic contribution. And the development of that life is largely out of our control. It grows in our body, but even if we choose not to abort, its life and death isn't really in our hands. A pregnant woman can do everything right and still end up with a dead baby. It happens. It's out of our control; we just go along for the ride. Anyways, women who say women are superior because of pregnancy are sexist.
  8. Well, I am a women myself. But, women are NOT the creatures if life. We simply carry life. A woman cannot have a baby without a male. Men are needed to "create life" also. Feminists mean that without a woman there would be no children, which is absolutely correct. BUT, you also need a man to produce a child.
  9. id say the creation of life isn't the importent question you ahould ask, its how you raise that life women create life with men
  10. Well, I don't really know ANY feminists that say that "women are superior because they create life" (and I know a LOT of feminists), you just pulled that out of your butt (and please don't come back at me with some 35 year old, totally taken out of context and misinterpreted quote). However, biologically speaking, the creation of a new life in a sexual reproduction process takes two, a man and a woman. Dividing the percentage of who contributes what seems pretty silly, but if you insist... maybe 75/25? 60/40? Who cares?!?!
  11. I don't think women create life at all, because we don't! We are only 50% of creation because while we get pregnant and carry the baby to term, we didn't do it by ourselves, we needed to have a partner. I am having a baby in just a few short weeks and I think if I said I created her, my husband would certainly have something to say about that :) We created each of our children together. So while one could say women nurture life, or that we carry new life we certainly don't create it.
  12. Men and women create life together - women continue the process to its end .
  13. If someone claims that women "create" life it means they are unaware of basic human biology.
  14. Men create life, women incubate it.
  15. At this time, to the best of my knowledge, it is not possible to create a human child without a female. This is what they mean by this. Medical science has yet to create a child without it growing in a women's body. It may even be possible in the near future for females to have children without men at all, no sperm needed. Take a look at the link beloew for an article on two female mice being able to reproduce.
  16. It is the fact that women are so much more involved in the process that is the backbone of these kinds of comments. Not only do women incubate the egg but we have to nurture it 9 months too... You have not been pregnant so you have no idea how invasive this is.... It's beautiful but invasive. The egg/baby is not just sitting inside you but changing you emotionally and physically. Besides this, women do most of the nurturing and raising of children. None of this sounds like much, maybe, but if women didn't do this, all over the world, then life would not exist. Happily, lots of men support women during the pregnancy process. And lots of men help rear children. But women do the lion's share. And a child's health and welfare depend greatly on the health (mental, emotional and physical) of the mother. And again...without all the "incubation", support, nurturing, and physical care that mothers provide HUMANITY would not exist.
  17. A woman's 23 chromosomes will not "create life" without a man's 23 chromosomes. Women and men create life equally in 50/50 proportions. The fact that women carry the child and breastfeed it doesn't make the proportion 60/40 or 70/30, it's still 50/50. Women carry and feed children in the same way that male seahorses carry their young and in the same way that male emperor penguins sit on their egg for months while the mother goes to feed. Our species is just designed this way, because from an evolutionary standpoint this makes the most sense, for the species to survive and thrive. Only asexual animals can "create life" by themselves, like earthworms.
  18. Can't wait for the day they make incubators for human babies lol
  19. I guess we all ought to fall on our knees, and worship tapeworms then, because they reproduce more than anything else on the planet. Why don't people quit worrying about this "Who's superior" crap.
  20. Obviously, it's terribly inaccurate. Come on, does ANYBODY say this anymore? Are you sure you aren't thinking of defunct feminist groups from the seventies? EDIT-Chavalier, eggs are cells and cells are living things. Or did you miss that day in biology class? Men do not "create" life anymore than women do. Without the egg, that sperm creates nothing. Both create life together.
  21. It takes two to tangle. 77
  22. Actually women do not create life they carry it. Eggs are not living. Sperm however is and men make millions a day. So men create life not women. Oh why all the TD's just for stating a fact? Did I take something from the poor femtards? Or did you not like that men are the creators of life and not women? Oh well just another example of double standards.
  23. It is not accurate, you need both sexes to create life. However, women have to put more effort into it. All you've got to do is get it up for long enough to ejaculate.
  24. It is half tru.
  25. I'd say about 80-90%. Of course women don't get pregnant on their own, and both sexes are needed to create life. We'd become extinct without both sexes.
