How do I build a homemade chicken incubator?
Can someone tell me how to build a small incubator, it can't cost to much, homemade items best. I know ill need light bulbs, but I need help with the rotating part. Like how to make it rotate and help not to make the eggs fall when it does rotate.

- Although I am sure this is not the answer that you are looking for, I would be very careful using something homemade, when dealing with something so delicate. Items specifically built for safety the safety of the eggs would be the best thing. If you decide to go with homemade, just be careful, and make sure it is safe before you put any eggs in it.
- Agree with Moby. However I've seen people use a normal 'heat lamp' which is available from most farm supplies stores - you will need the socket and shade for it as well but it plugs into a normal mains socket, hang it up so it is over the box which should for safety and cleanliness be made of wood. Advice I've seen recently says for safety get two in case one fails you won't lose the whole clutch. If you're desperate a common bedside lamp will provide a bit of warmth just until you can get a proper heatlamp set up. With all lamps be careful of the heat and make sure the distance of the lamp is sufficient to provide heat but not too hot. I'm sorry we've never incubated eggs so I've no idea what the temperatures should be. Also I don't know how you could set up a rotating one. These are the only suggestions I've seen. Don't know if any of this is any help....
