Will Chicken wings work instead of breasts?

I found a recipe for crock pot apricot glazed chicken. It says to use chicken breast but all I have is chicken wings. Will it turn out the same with different meat?

  1. I've had to sub wings for breast before. It will be fine, but you don't have to cook it as long. My wings got so done the meat fell off the bones. Just keep an eye on it.
  2. chicken, as any kind of meat, comes in different cuts. Different cuts have different fat content, muscle density, etc. A filet mignon (beef tenderloin) can be cooked almost rare, as it it tender as is. Chicken breasts have a totally different meat structure than chicken wings. The best chicken wings I've ever had you could serve with an apricot glaze. First you steam the chicken wings until they're cooked. Then you pat them all dry. Then you set your oven to 375-400 celcius depending on how finicky it is. 15-20 and you're looking at really crispy chicken wings that you can finish with a glaze or anything you want.
