If I Buy a home in north Arkansas, near a poultry farm, will the smell be too much to handle?
I've been told buy a southern Missouri realtor to avoid "chicken farms" in Arkansas. He said I'd be better off to buy in southern Misssouri too avoid the smell. ...The home is 300' from five Tyson poultry buildings, which are 300feet in length, a total of five Tyson buildings in close neat rows. Could the smell be bad enough to give up on buying the property? the house/property are very nice for the price.

- It can be brutal, wind direction , your proximity to the farm and whether play a major role in the odor being bearable or unbearable.
- Can't be as bad as a piggery or feed lot/
- Summer is the hardest....depending where the house is.......You should spend a day or two there to try it out and see....This would be the time to do it...now, that the temps...are in the 90's It doesn't cost much to spend a couple of days......your nose will know!!
