  1. I can't really help with websites, but how about converting what you already have, anything can be a chicken coop - my boyfriend has a shed, and I have an old coal-bunker for mine (all cleared out of course!). If you are thinking of getting chickens it is worth buying a book on them anyway, just because it'll tell you what to feed them and how much to give each, and what weight they ought to be, and how to treat worms or mites etc, most books will also have chicken coop designs.
  2. You should check out www.backyardchickens.com That's where I got the plans for my coop.
  3. try http://www.chickencoopplansnow.com for lots of ideas
  4. Good idea to look at backyardchickens.com - it's an active forum where you will find people ready to help and lots of ideas and plans already on there. There are articles on various websites that will help too try http://www.chickenark.org/ for some literature as well as searchin on ezinearticles.com
  5. Hi, Unfortunately, building your own chicken coop is not as easy as banging some wood and wire mesh together. You need to take into account materials, insulation, ventilation, lighting, positioning, nesting, perches, litter collection and protection from the elements and other animals. You don't need fancy tools, basic tools like a handsaw, hammer, drill etc can build your coops but you should consid er a 'proper plan' which should help you save money (up to 50%) anyway. This isn't free I'm afraid, but should save you money as it's not expensive either. If you are able, you may be able to blow up the plans on the website to get enough information!! Link below.
