- Use chicken wire!
- Can't help ya, I'm afraid, - I'm BUSY, all weekend!
- You can find some information about how to build a chicken coop here http://www.cad-design-and-drafting-services.com/how-to-build-a-chicken-coop.html
- Cannot claim credit for the info below as I found it on a resolved question, but you could think of rescue hens for your school. This is part of the answer - Hen Heaven, rescuing 'end of lay' hens, giving them a free range life ~ Squirrels Farm, Stonepit Lane, Henfield, West Sussex, Tel: 07754 550193 Hen Rehomers UK: Rescue and rehoming nationwide, of battery and other commercial hens which would otherwise be slaughtered. Website: www.bhwt.org.uk I've linked below to the whole question for you. The second link bears a look too. You get your choice of hens if you purchase one of these pods. They're not cheap but you get everything you need to do the whole thing including the hens. Plus these are fox and badger proof and would take the hard work out of the project.
- Go to www.chickenark.org You can get plans for building your own chicken coop that you can move around. I tried it and it worked well and the materials were very cheap too. ps so far it's kept the foxes at bay too.

- http://www.freewebs.com/professorchicken/coops.htm Not plans, but lots of different ideas for coops and information about what needs to go in them. You could also go to your local city farm and have a look at the coops they have there. http://www.farmgarden.org.uk/our-work-across-the-uk.html Apart from that, if you ask around you are very likely to find some local chicken keepers. I know of several down my road (and I suspect another) and I live in suburbia. I also know of several keepers in one small area of the city (the local pet shop actually sells layers pellets). Try asking at friendly local pet shops & newsagents & off licenses - those are the sort of people who tend to know everything about everyone :) Edit: the above website is www. f r e e w e b s.com/professorchicken/coops.htm (without the spaces - Y!A won't let me put it in without censoring it for some reason)
