  1. yeah you might want to consider getting a really really good therapist...
  2. Wow. As long as you are not psychotic, it is probably OK... Just try to find some other hobbies too...
  3. get help!!!
  4. Yeah chickens are pretty cute but at the same time they are yummy fried.....not to be rude just my opinion. I dont think its too weird. I obsess over my dogs....You just prefer chickens over more commonly domesticated animals...to each their own
  5. OMG I LOVE CHICKENS TOO! THEY ARE SOOOOO SWEET AND ADORABLE! I'm not obsessed with chickens, but I am with RABBITS!!!! GAHHHHHH!!!! Well, why don't you try to build a coop? It's inexpensive and simple. Just get some wood and encourage your father to help. Once he sees that you are motivated, then he will be too! No, it's not weird that you like pet chickens and still eat meat. I know several people like that. One of my friend's uncles has a pet cow, and he eats pigs (he likes pet chickens too). It's okay to be obsessed. Your dreams and thoughts are encouraging you to build that coop. It's something that YOU want. Go for it!
  6. Well, you're not "obsessed" I think. It's okay to have a favorite animal, but I do think the pictures of chickens in your room i a little much. Try doing things one at a time. First, take down the pictures of chickens. In a few days when you want to go to the farms to play with chickens, stay for half the time you usually do. Then do half of that. Eventually you won't want to go as much, then you can go on occasion, like for a birthday. Then you can just have a pet chicken left. Pet chickens are actually good pets. I know someone who has a whole bunch of pet chickens that he doesn't use for food. Hope this helped, good luck with your chicken!
  7. I was kinda the same at your age! We had chickens, and they're such clever, friendly, useful, intuitive, interesting chaps, I couldn't help but boast about my pets (but be careful about that, many people just go out of their way to make fun of you and your chickens in your presence to annoy the hell out of you. In order to protect the dignity of my chickens, I rarely spoke about them in public, in school), and give them lots of treats, and totally adore rearing more chicks! I've never eaten a chicken in my life, and I'm glad of it. I had quite a few bits and bobs with chickens plastered all over too! But then one afternoon, all but one of my chickens was killed by a fox. Some of them, (we'd had since I was 5) had always played such a large part in my life. When Mrs, our only original chicken left, was found dead, and still warm in her hutch, all I could do was cuddle her whilst we searched for the mutilated bodies of the others. After that day, I've distanced myself from further pet chickens, lest it should happen again. And it did, a little over a month ago. I'm 16 now, and no longer wish to keep more chickens. What ever you do, look after Cuddles well, and make sure she comes to no harm! It's heart breaking seeing generations of beautiful, intelligent birds killed and strewn like confetti over your garden. If Cuddles is safer in the neighbours garden, keep her there. If not, nag nag nag nag! untill your dad gives in. Keep your addiction to them strong, and don't let the same happen to Cuddles, as my chickens had happen to them. :'(. Did you know they have intellectual capabilities greater than a small child? Not many animals have that, at all. And yet they are so abused. I hope you and Cuddles stay strong!
