  1. If any one is going to break out, it will take 2 weeks. If your wife is pregnant, call her Dr. right away. The baby could be born with birth defects if mom gets it while pregnant!
  2. about 10 days
  3. Your wife should have gotten the shot but since she didn't there is NOTHING she can do at this point since she has already been exposed. Your child needs to stay home until the sores are no longer draining.
  4. Definitely keep your daughter confined to certain areas of the house so it doesn't spread. Lysol sanitizing wipes are the best and easiest for quick but effective disenfection. Your daughter should be quarantined until her fever breaks if she has one, and the chicken pox mark start to crust over, or scab up.
  5. Your daughtrer will usuallyhave to stay home from school fro 2 weeks so I'd say 2 weeks but since a mother couldnt possiblily stay away from her daughter for 2 weeks make sure she wears pants and sweaters and gloves and something over her mouth and face and even with all of that still try not to touch her unless she has to Use lysol to santize the things your daughter and wife both touch example = door knobs, phone, remote controls, and etc.... good luck oh and buy some calamine lotion and chicken noodle soup for your little girl it'll make her feel better = )
  6. Your child is contagious until 24 hours after the blisters have crusted over. Usually approximately 7 - 10 days.
  7. The duration of chicken pox varies but your child should be kept away from others for approximately 7 days or until the lesions scab over. Your wife probably already has it. She should know in 10-21 days which the incubation period.
  8. Until the bumps have all dried up. If your wife has never had it, its very likely that she will get it, it's difficult to live with someone who has it and not get it. Antihistamine and oatmeal bath, are good to have on hand. One tames the itch and the other helps dry it up. Also because of the constant exposure your wife has had to it, she may have gotten a heavy dose, be prepared. Good luck :-(
