Chook Me!

Does this recipe sound good?

Ok - I wanted to do a little something different with Chicken & Rice than what I normally do and this recipe may already exist so I'm not trying to pass it off as my own, but here's what I came up with and to me it sounds good, but want the opinion of others so I don't make a dish that's horrible. Cooked rice mixed with a can of cream of chicken and velveeta cheese and warmed until cheese is melted. I'm just going to cook my chicken in some light seasonings. Then bake the chicken on top of the rice mixture topped with cheese and those crispy onions that you put on top of green bean casserole. Bake until warmed through and the top cheese is melted. So this is basically a cheesy chicken & rice. Does this sound good??? Thanks for your opinions. *** LMAO to the second answer. That's how my stepdad determines if a meal is good or not -if it'll make a good turd!! *** I guess I should have added that we're doing broccoli & cheese on the side. I thought about broccoli in the dish itself, but my 4 year old is picky about her food. She likes broccoli & cheese by itself, so that's why I'm doing it that way. Thanks everyone so far!!! Great ideas!!

  1. sounds good to me....I'd throw some green beans in and have my veggies too all in one dish
  2. It'll make a turd.
  3. I would probably cook the chicken separately, and just serve it on top of the cheesy rice. But yeah it sounds good
  4. It sounds OK to me, may I suggest some simple additions? You could add some veggies, such as BCC, (broccoli, carrots and cauliflower), snap peas or spinach, asparagus or something with some crunch to it. Or, a bag of frozen mixed veggies in with your rice and cheese mixture. As for the crunchy noodles on top? I'd go with some Herb Panko (Japanese) bread crumbs instead, I don't think those dried noodles would compliment your dish very well from a taste aspect. Scallions (green onions) or chives on top would taste great! Finally, I do like your initial recipe, but adding some veggies would put it over the top! Great question today, hope you get the answer you're looking for and have a wonderful dinner!
