Is a chicken coop and a chicken roost the same thing?

I am getting some chickens and i want to no if i have to get a chicken roost and a chicken coop!

1. I would say no. The coop is a whole unit where many chickens may roost. A roost is a location or place that the chickens hang out in.
2. A chicken coop is where chickens go and sleep in at night, or go in for protection. I guess you can also call it a cage. A chicken roost is a bar that goes across the coop so that chickens can sleep on it at night. Hope this helps!
